Genevieve Boyle was born in the metro Detroit area of Michigan and is currently living and working in Memphis, Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Drawing and Painting from Loyola University Chicago in May 2021.

Boyle's work is about charting the disorder that can be found between place and memory, especially in relationship to memories that no longer serve to forward growth. Amongst the scribblings, nostalgic objects, and dreamlike spaces the work depicts, there is a familiarity for those who relish nostalgia and romance. In the visuals, there is a recurring theme of feminine identities within a personal or hidden sphere; this includes depictions of what is given emotionally and physically, what is felt secretly, and what is created inside of feminine privacy.
